PowerPlan FAQs

1) What is Powerplan?

Powerplan is an international callback service developed exclusively for US military personnel all over the world. It is run by a publicly traded, fully licensed American corporation . PowerPlan can be used from any country in the world. And, it saves you big money on each and every call you make, often up to 70% over what you may be paying presently!

2)  How do I use Powerplan?

Its very simple. When you sign up for the service, you will be given an American phone number called DID. This number is linked to your present phone number in our computer. To place a call, you first dial your DID number in the same manner in which would make a call to the USA, [i.e. that is you dial the international access code from your country (e.g. 00) followed by the country code for USA (1) and the DID.] You will hear a voice prompt : " Please hang up now." At this point, hang-up your phone. This call that you made is not billed because it is an incomplete call [the voice prompt is what you hear instead of the bell ringing!]. Within a few seconds, your phone will ring and on answering, you will get an a  voice prompt asking you to enter your destination number. Dial your destination number as if you were dialing from USA. For calls to any phone in the  US dialing plan simply dial the area code and phone number. DO NOT DIAL 00 or any other prefix. For calls to any other country, dial 011 followed by the country code and phone number. In simple words, once you get the callback, you are connected to The American Phone system and so you place your call as if you were in America. Remember that the CALLBACK will only go to the number you have given us while signing up.  Billing is done either on your calling card or direct draft from your bank account.

3) Is it possible to have more than one callback number on an account?

Yes, you can have as many numbers as you like. Remember that you are paying the bill and so we don't suggest more than three numbers for residential accounts. You can have one for phone, one for fax and one for cell phone, or any other combination you like!

4) Does PowerPlan work with cellular/mobile phones?

Yes, and this is the great thing about it. In many countries including Germany, Japan, Korea etc., incoming calls to Cellphones are not billed! Using PowerPlan, all calls are converted into incoming calls. So, you don't pay any airtime charges at all! This means that you can call anywhere within Germany using a cellphone for just 22 cents a minute or anywhere within Japan for just 42 cents a minute! This is a very powerful saving that is possible!

5)  What are your rates?

Go to rates calculator.

6) How do you charge for the service?

We offer two possible options- credit card payment or bank drafting. Your credit card will be charged for the actual usage of service every week on an ongoing basis. If you prefer bank draft, your account in any American bank will be drafted twice monthly for the amounts you owe us. As a standard practice, we recommend you use the credit card system if you have a credit card. This allows you to carry a balance should you need to, a facility that is not available with bank drafting! Naturally you receive a detailed statement each month to allow you to track your calls and costs!

7) How do you compare against competitors?

We have carefully developed a plan that is very competitive. You are welcome to note down details about our program and compare us with others.
     For example:
We do billing in 6 second increments after the first 30 seconds, most of the others do not.
We have an automated customer service system that nobody else has.
We don't have any monthly minimums, sign up fees or fixed monthly charges.
Most importantly, we don't even charge your credit card in advance like almost all the others do! This means that you can try out our service at absolutely no risk!

And of course, our rates are terrific.
